Transportation of Dangerous Goods

 

Companies involved in Offering for Transport, Handling or Transporting dangerous goods are required to comply with the federal Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act. These programs follow the new Clear Language regulation which was updated in 2003. FSN customizes the program to some extent for each customer. Written testing is done at the end of each program and upon successful completion FSN provides certificates for the employer to issue to their employees and a copy for the company records

TDG – Clear Language Edition
(TDG-01) (1/2 day)


Intended For:
Employees involved in the any of the aspects of transporting dangerous goods and have some familiarity with the Act and Regulations. 
Course Content:
Basics of the legislation including training requirements, exemptions, classifications, safety marks, packaging, UN symbols, documentation and emergency procedures.
Prerequisites: None
Valid for: 3 years

 

TDG – Propane Specific
PTI 100-3 (1/2 day)

Intended For: Businesses transporting propane cylinders or bulk propane. 
Course Content:
Legislation basics, exemptions, classifications, safety marks, packaging, UN symbols, documentation. Specific propane requirements are focused on.
Prerequisites: None
Valid for: 3 years

 

TDG – Transportation of Dangerous Goods Propane Specific – Supplement
PTI 100-13 (2 Hrs)

This course is for propane cylinder fillers who already have their filling license (PTI 100-1 or PTI 100-8). It allows them to fill cylinders that are greater than 46L capacity (40 lb). This provides the basic knowledge required to obtain a TDG license as well as the TDG information specific to propane 

Intended For: Employees who fill propane cylinders that are larger than 46 L capacity ( ie larger than a 40 lb cylinder)
Course Content: Legislation basics, exemptions, classifications, safety marks, packaging, UN symbols and documentation as it relates to the person filling propane cylinders
Prerequisites: PTI 100-8 or PTI 100-1 Cylinder Filling courses
Valid For: 3 Years

 

TDG – Transportation of Dangerous Goods Propane Specific – Supplement
FSN Supplement (1 hr)

This course is for propane cylinder fillers who already have their filling license (PTI 100-1 or PTI 100-8). It allows them to fill cylinders that are greater than 46L capacity (40 lb). This provides the basic knowledge required to obtain a TDG license as well as the TDG information specific to propane 

Intended For: Employees at retail sites who fill propane cylinders that are larger than 46 L capacity ( ie. larger than a 40 lb cylinder)
Course Content: Legislation basics, exemptions, classifications, safety marks, packaging, UN symbols and documentation specifically for as it relates to the person filling propane cylinders
Prerequisites: PTI 100-8 or PTI 100-1 Cylinder Filling courses
Valid For: 3 Years

 

TDG Propane Hose Inspection & Testing
PTI 100-07 (2  hrs)

Intended For: Individuals who conduct pressure testing on propane hoses used during loading or off-loading of highway tanks
Course Content: Instruction on the specific regulatory requirements affecting hose assembly inspection and testing, the frequency of testing and types of inspections.

Valid for: 3 years
